water powered cars

Water powered cars are something that the public has been hoping to see on the road for a few decades now. The possibility of water powered cars being invented has been talked up practically since the invention of the automobile itself. Unfortunately as of yet, there are no water powered cars to be seen on the roads or even at car lots because they have not yet been invented-or if they have, they haven’t been proven safe enough to release to the public. This doesn’t mean that the demand for water powered cars is ever going to go away. On the contrary, with the ever increasing cost of gasoline, the demand for water powered cars has reached an almost fevered pitch.

If we were experts in thermodynamics, physics, chemistry and car engines, here is how our water powered cars would work:

The gasoline tank would be replaced with a water tank. In that water tank there would be two metal plates. Each of those metal plates would be hooked up to its own electrical charge, which would effectively turn those plates into electrodes. A battery would send an electrical current through the water tank and this electrical current would cause the water molecules to react. Their reaction to the electricity would be for each of the two elements to separate and reform into two diatomic molecules: O2 and H2. The H2 would appear at the negatively charged electrode while the O2 would appear at the positively charged electrode. From the electrode the H2 diatomic molecules would be burned and the combustion of the hydrogen atoms would produce the power that would be necessary to run the car. If everything works the way it is supposed to, the power that comes from the H2 combustion would be relatively equal to two and a half times the power created form the combustion of gasoline.

Unfortunately, so far, this method hasn’t proven to work correctly because a true water fuel cell will never work correctly. The laws of thermodynamics make it practically impossible for a water fuel cell to work. In order for the water fuel cell to work properly it needs to be a perpetual motion machine. In order to be a perpetual motion machine, the energy that is exerted in separating the molecules must be less than the amount of energy created as a result of the separation process. This means that there is a constant build up of energy within the fuel cell. Unfortunately the energy required to split a water molecule will always far outweigh the amount of energy created by the split itself. This renders the water fuel cell useless.

Hopefully one of these days, scientists will have a breakthrough and will figure out how to create water powered cars. After all, with the price of gasoline being what it is, the demand for such a product is huge. While nothing has been invented yet, you can take comfort in knowing that scientists and technicians are working like crazy to make water powered cars a possibility.

Mark Myers asked:

The Water4Gas Scam is not new to the market. Over publicized products have never been uncommon on the internet. The fact of the matter is almost none stand above the crowd from the millions of scams that prey on peoples susceptibility to ludicrously high energy prices, making themselves rich.

So, what’s the real word on the Water4Gas Scam?

How does it work, what is it, and what do you get? Let’s begin what it is not. You are not going to create a car you fill up with your hose. And it does not claim to. (it does include a dozen plans to 100% water powered car plans, but the average person will not be able to build it. The other main issue is you have to construct the device yourself. The last and biggest problem is it requires some tinkering skills to make. (NOTE: ALL assembly required.) It should take an afternoon to put it together. It did only take simple tools, with the exception of maybe a soldering gun.

Now, what do you get? Lots of promises, like double your gas mileage, increased power, cleaner emissions, lower engine temperatures, and longer life of engine. (Read on to see if they’re true.) I am sick of scams. The Water4Gas scam did look good. It includes several digital books (which you have to read on your computer or print out, another downfall.) One is the directions to five different devices you can put together to save gas. The others only compliment the main device. The second book is full of ideas to further enhance the device, and how to save fuel. They include a report which shows you how to get the government to pay for your changes to your automobile. Two freebies they throw in are over 1,000 pages of forgotten energy saving inventions and secrets, plans to 12 completely water powered car designs.

The biggest thing you get, (which you have to buy to gain access..Bummer) other than the main book, is you gain membership in a free marketplace. The open market has ready to install kits you can buy if you don’t want to build your own, at a big savings. You can chat with other people all over the world who have already bought and installed the device. Again, you have to buy the book first, to participate.

So, what does it do? In a nutshell, it uses your battery to extract hydrogen from water. It blends the hydrogen with your fuel in your engine, using the fuel more efficiently, thus saving you money.

So, is the Water4Gas scam, the real deal or not? The simple fact is, at least in this case, people cry scam because they don’t bother to educate themselves first. Are there frauds out there, yes. I figured on getting ripped off when I bought it. However upon scanning through the instructions and books, I thought, this makes sense. So, I spent $57 and built the device and installed it.

I am not as devoted as some of the people I’ve found. Consequently, I did not double my mileage, I only increased just over 50%. 21 mpg to 33 mpg, in my car. Not bad. Is it a scam? No. Over 15,000 people have purchased the eBook in over 50 countries. I’m asking why isn’t this top line news everywhere?

So, about the Water4Gas scam. You do have choices. One just ignore this information, and continue to pay more than you need to for fuel (don’t worry OPEC will be fair), or two take action. You don’t have to be a politician to make a difference. You can help design the future, one car at a time.

I have heard of water fuel convertion guides that are supposed to convert water to brown gas (HHO) to supplyment fuel in a car and promote beter combustion, but has anyone out there actually fitted one and do they really work?.

I am technically trained and I find the whole idea skepticle, I have calculated that using conventional electrolysis it would require some 1500 amps of current through a single conventional water splitter to produce enough brown gas to drive a small car and that it would take some 600Kwats of electric power to do this when you consider the voltage that would require and current squared * resister loses, bearing in mind it takes 4 litres of hydrogen compressed to 600 P.S.I to produce the same energy in an engine as 1 liter of gas, anyone any thoughts please?, to me the sums do not add up.

improve car gas mileage
John Pawlett asked:

There are many simple steps you can take that are free or low cost that at first glance seem silly or even obvious but you would be surprised how many people fail to do them or ignore the warning signs their car is giving them.

Here are some quick tips that you may have missed or forgotten about. Not any single tip will make that big of a difference in increasing your gas mileage but I am a firm believer that every little thing you can do really does add up to getting better gas mileage and helping the environment in the process.

Simple Mileage Improvement Tips:
Use a sunshade to keep your car cool and avoid the use of your air conditioner as much as possible.

Park your car in the shade when it’s sunny and warm to keep your car’s interior cooler.

Make sure that your parking brake is fully released before you start driving.

Avoid drive-thru lines at restaurants. Park your car and go inside and order your food as many times it’s a lot quicker anyway. I always laugh to myself as I’m eating while I watch people sitting in their cars still waiting for their food. Just think of how much gas is wasted in those lines!

Use a block heater in winter to pre-warm your car engine.

Don’t ride the brake. Not only will this save gas but will greatly extend the life of your brake pads.

Drive with a smooth, constant speed and avoid ‘flooring it’ when the stoplight turns green.

Maintain the transmission fluid in your car at the proper level for efficient gear shifting.

If there is smoke is coming from your tailpipe make sure that you make an appointment with your mechanic.

Make sure that your cooling system thermostat in your car is working properly.

Avoid air conditioning leaks by constant checkups with your mechanic. FYI - Pre-1994 vehicles use CFCs for cooling.

Immediately fix a slipping transmission.
When you rev up your vehicle’s engine it wastes gas. Avoid revving your engine before your turn it off as it really serves no purpose.

If you can’t find a place to buy cheap gas on one day wait if you can until a few days later since the price of gas is constantly changing. Where I live you can almost predict which days prices will rise or fall. Start watching prices in your area to see if you can pick up on any patterns.

Buy your gas at the wholesale clubs, like Costco. You can often save over 10 cents a gallon or more. If you don’t like the wholesale clubs get a gas credit card from a major oil company. You’ll get a 1% to 5% discount when you buy your gas at their stations.
